I just bought herbal colon cleansing pills and i am wondering if they get nicotine out of your body. I want to quit chewing tobacco. I have only been addicted for probably about 8 months but im young and i want to stop while i can

No…. you just have to let it wear out. The problem with quitting tobacco is that your body has gotten used to the nicotine – it’s accommodated itself to it – it’s “addicted” to it. When you quit, it’s out of your system within a couple days – BUT – you have developed a need for the nicotine now. So what takes the time is your body to get back to all its normal settings.
So it won’t matter if you try to wash the nicotine out of your system – it’s gone. But what’s NOT gone is your body’s expectation and NEED for that nicotine. So that’s the tough part about quitting.
I remember Surgeon General Koop saying that nicotine was the “most addictive substance” that he knew of – more than heroine or cocaine. So if you can quit, you’re really doing something great. There’s a lot of people who can’t quit.
