Just curious as to how cocaine and alcohol abuse affect someone suffering from bipolar disorder. How does it affect their mood? What kinds of behavior do they exhibit? How does it affect their relationships with other people?

Well cocaine is a stimulant, designed to release a rush of endorphines and bring on a happy “high”
Alcohol is a depressant which numbs the pleasure receptors in the brain and makes you feel depressed if used in large quantities.

If you were to do both with/without bipolar disorder you would probably die.
Either one alone would probably make mood swings more likely.

OK, it sounds like you may be on medications for bipolar disorder.

One thing that you have to understand is that those medications for bipolar usually induce cravings for cocaine and/or other drugs.

See, the bipolar drugs deny you of your feeling of “well being”, and often, one on bipolar drugs will seek out drugs or booze to counterbalance the effects of those drugs.

My best advise is to slowly wean yourself off of those bipolar drugs ASAP.

Once your brain function has returned to normal, you probably won’t have those cravings for coke and booze anymore.
