Question by Lovelife: is my boyfriend using cocaine? ?
He has done cocaine before for a while but he claims he hasn’t since we have been dating. I have a big issue with it and he knows that if i find out he is doing it i will leave him. I have had several people come up to me and tell me that they either heard that he was doing it or they saw him. I have asked him about it but he says he has not. I watch him and the way he acts and this is what he does and please tell me if these are not signs. He sniffs a lot always blowing his nose but nothing comes out of his nose. He said he has deviated septum and that’s why his nose is always running. Also he goes to the bathroom frequently. Ive never noticed his eyes being blood shot or dilated. He is really tired in the mornings even though he gets plenty of sleep. Some people have said he will be out of money but he is well of and has plenty of money ive also heard that you loose your appetite but he eats all day. Can someone please help me out and give me some advice or if you think he is on it or not.

I used to do coke a lot and your eyes dont have to be bloodshot and you dont necessarily lose your appetite, but frequent trips to the bathroom and sniffing a lot usually is a sign he’s doing it. If you notice that his hands like shake or he fidgets a lot thats usually when you can tell someones using coke that and a very short attention span. hope this helps

There could be any number of reasons for those symptoms, but I would probably be suspicious too since you know he has used in the past. The fact that other people have told you he is using, either through hearsay or because they saw him, adds to that suspicion, but do those people have any reason to lie to you? They may or they may not…
Quite honestly, if you feel the need to ask about this on a website such as this, you should probably think twice about your relationship. Not only are you asking this website but you seem to be aking a number of other people. The fact that you feel suspicious is not good for a relationship or for you, and chances are those suspicions will always be there for the duration of the relationship. A lack of trust, for whatever reason, is not a good sign and perhaps you need to ask yourself why you want to hang on despite your suspicions.
Without knowning the guy, it’s difficult for any of us to know if he is really using or not. However, from your statements I would say that you need to examine your reasons for staying with him.
